'Weetos,' 'Froot Poofs' Cannabis Snacks Uncovered in LaPlace Narcotics Investigation

They may appear to be normal snacks and cereals, but upon further inspection and a quick tweak of the name these products offer more than just questionable nutrition.

Bags of 'Weetos,' Froot Poofs' and 'Cannamon Toast Crunch' were discovered during a narcotics investigation in Laplace by the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office.

The contents of the bags, which carry warnings on the back 'may cause drowsiness,' and 'keep out of reach of children,' were tested and confirmed to contain THC, the chemical compound found in marijuana.

In a statement, St. John Parish sheriff Mike Tregre warns that the possession and distribution of these products in Louisiana is illegal, despite any laws that allow their productions in other states.
