Yellow leaves in excess

I have been growing for years so this frustrates me.
I have read numerous contradictory posts on this subject and I apologize for bringing this up again.
I grow outdoors in the ground. Organic with compost prepped soil.
I am in Yakima county, WA
Dry climate
I have 5 plants
3 different strains
1 plant is turning yellow, seriously yellow.
I water and feed correctly and the same for all plants.

I have read on various forums about N deficiency and nutrient lockout. Some say that N is not important in flowering stage.
My plants are in the ground so flushing isn’t as easy as in pots as I don’t want to rot the roots.
I’ve been growing for 50 years + with no problems and now suddenly it seems the plants are more demanding than in past ... hybrids ??
Yes I’m growing feminized plants

Hi @Tripsickery and welcome to the forum! :welcome:

Pictures of the problem would definitely help and no need to apologize ... you are having a problem, so let's try to resolve it.
1 plant out of 5 turning yellow does not indicate a feeding problem, but points directly to that one plant and what may have gone wrong there. Flushing in the ground is pointless, so lets not go there.
Get us some pictures of the problem plant as well as a group shot so I can see the good ones too and I will tell you what I see.. we can go from there to figure out why.

Thank you

The plant “in question” was grown from a free/bonus seed that was sent with seeds I purchased, it’s “name” Grapefruit

it just looks like a hungry plant that isnt satisfied with what it is finding and now has decided to cannibalize some of the lower leaves to get it. You can tell by the yellowing from the bottom up that it is a mobile and therefore most likely a macro nutrient, and this tells me that this plant just wants more of what you are already giving. Other than this the plant looks great, so she is dealing with it... just letting you know she is hungry. Awesome plants by the way... you should be proud!

I agree with all the above ...I will add that she looks like she is still in early flowering mode .. I would give her double what you are feeding the rest at least until she colors back up.

Double of everything.. not just specifically N ?

Is it strain specific ? As the other plants aren’t doing this ?

Thank you

Macro nutrient ? (Us old timers aren’t so much up on the technical stuff)
Ok so just give her extra stuff ... ok I’ll give it a try and let you know ... thanks

I recognize 4 macro nutrients, or the nutes that the plants need the most of at various times during the grow. Those nutrients are Nitrogen, Potassium, Phosphorus and Calcium, with the first three being mobile within the plant.

some strains will take more feed than others . It appeared to me that the leaching was aggressive . SO my suggestion was to double what you where already feeding .

Would kelp help ? Maybe ?
I am not a soil guy .. but kelp will give her more nitrogen .
