This. This is the best 5-gal design/build I've seen. Sturdy as a brick shithouse, it will clearly take many cycles of punishment indoors and out - glitch-free. I am in love.. unfortunately, I find the size too big for one of my potential uses and too small for the other. However, that's due to a personal, indeed idiosyncratic, scenario, which I don't feel should keep most from copying and using. So don't, dear reader, let my following, single, 'critique' (question, really) about the wicking foot dissuade from my 5/5 rating... this thing is a tank with genuinely top-level design details!

Nonetheless, Mr. Absorber, why not some more holes in the wicking foot?
a) Because that'll do the job, and I live a balanced, complete life free from obsessive, neurotic, or frivolous detail. So, why put extra miles on my good drilling arm?
b) I am trying to slow the wicking process, shooting for a slightly drier SIP overall as a result.
c) None of the above; it's for this reason: (please fill in the blank!).

:adore: thankyou
The wicking foot actually has 8 vertical rows of holes just a bit hard to tell from the angle of picture and the cap on the bottom also has about 15 or so holes all done with a 5/32 drill bit.
I feel this will be plenty to saturate the foot and wick from there .
Im a couple of months of using them as im still in winter and plan on using them outside first :passitleft::peacetwo:

I think the next few i make i will put cuts in the foot with one of those skinny 5 inch angle grinder blades like I did on my bell syphon pipe that will work a lot better there's a video of it in my bell syphon signature below you can see the cuts done in 3 sections around pipe.
