2nd question on 48 hours of darkness

OK so I am seeing that it is very beneficial to leave the lights off for 48 hours prior to harvest. I have two questions on this.

1. Do you turn the lights off after you have a 50-50 ratio of trichromes and then pick after the 48 hours of darkness?

2. If the colas and top buds are more developed than middle to bottom buds, will turning the lights of for 48 hours make the bottom to middle buds catch up to the colas and the whole plant will be ready to harvest?

I think you're safe turning the lights off at the 50/50 trichome colour for 48 hours. If your unsure maybe turn the lights off when 1/3 of the trich's are amber... just a thought.

im a few weeks away from amber goodness and would love your answers!! hope someone comes around...it has seemed to me in the past few months the replys have dropped...everyone is busy busy!!
