SB 2450 Relating to Marijuana decriminalizes possession of 1 oz or less and creates a civil fine of not more than $100. This bill was introduced by Senator Kalani English and has a total of 20 signatures
(out of 25 senators). In order to pass the Senate, this bill needs to be heard by just one committee: the Committee on Judiciary and Government Operations.
We need people to call the chair of the committee: Senator Brian Taniguchi and ask that he hold a hearing for this bill. The number to call is 586-6460. "I am calling to request that Senator Taniguchi hear SB 2450, decriminalizing marijuana possession. I support the bill and I want the senate to pass it."
This is the best opportunity we have had in many years to decriminalize possession of marijuana. Please make that phone call as soon you can. We need those phone calls.
