I wouldnt worry to much about ants. Unless they build a nest in or right next to your plant. If that happens then use a ant killer or transplant to a new location.

Well, it's more comparable to how we keep cows than pets as the ants feed on the aphids' honeydew and in return the aphids are protected by the ants.
