Any Tips For Successful Seed Germination?

Hi, I've been trying to germinate some seeds I cultivated my self from plants where a male got loose in my room.

I'm not having much luck, only about 2 of 20 have risen. I used the wet napkin in an enclosed area with a heat pad under. Some of the seeds have started to crack open, but thats about it. I tried plant them in peat pods and under 24hrs of light, only 2 have risen. I've recently moved them outdoors under the sun.

Any suggestions or tips, please.

Thjank You!

How do the seeds look? They should have a nice brownish color to them with a marbling of dark and light brown colors. Green seeds or light brown seeds are typically under developed. That could be the reason they aren't sprouting.

For germinating you can look here for more info. How to Germinate Seeds

I have only had 1 seed not germinate with this method **knocks on wood**

1. soak seed in distilled spring water for 24 hours or until the seed drops to the bottom when tapped.
2. place the seed into a damp paper towel. NOT soaked! Fold the towel over on top of the seed and place in between 2 plates.
3. Within 12-24 hours you should see a taproot.
4. Using a pen or pencil, push a hole about 1-2" down into your growing medium.
5. CAREFULLY place the seed with the taproot down into the growing medium and lightly recover if using soil.
6. BE PATIENT and wait 2-7 days to see a sprout emerge.

There's nothing wrong with your germination method (it's my favorite method).

How long have you been waiting?
I once had a seed that took 10 days to crack open.
