Auto flowering?

A friend gave me a few seeds from his outdoor grow. I germinated them and put them under 24 hours light. I'm using CFL's, which by the way are producing amazing results. I allowed them to grow about nine inches then set back the lights 12/12. Now here's the thing, they started flowering within a few days. I mean they really started to flower. Now he told me they were AK-47/White Widow which would be White Russian, if I'm correct. Could this be a auto flowering strain? If so, couldn't I increase the light to like 20/4 or something?
Also I only had them in veg for maybe three weeks before I set back the lights. Would a auto flowering strain even be mature enough to flower after this short time?

Possibly, but you wouldn't have known unless you kept them on 20-24 hours+.

I believe my autoflower grows all started flowering around 4-6 weeks or so. It's been a while. Feel free to check out my profile and my completed journals.

Ok, their are both autoflowering white Russians and normal white Russian seeds out their so you could have either one but I'm thinking you probably have the standard kind because most autoflowering plants usually only get about 12 to 14 inches tall total and will show flowers under 24/0 about 3-4 weeks after they sprout and this light cycle needs to go for the entire grow.

As for the short time in flowering after 12/12, I've had standard AK47's that did that too in fact I had a few that started showing preflowers while still under 24/0 so I guess the next question is how tall are these and do they have a short squat looking stature (auto's) or are they looking long and lanky (standard)?

If they just keep flowering under 24/0 then they are certainly auto's but if veg continues they're standard.

About 18 inches and really bushy. Trouble is I have four different strains that I know aren't auto, and no room to seperate the autos, if that's what they are. Thanks for the info.

They sound normal to me. I do not think they are Autos'. Sounds like they were ready to go into flower. Your timing was just right on.

He's right, at 18" their's no doubt you have the full meal deal and I do hope they are in fact real white russian's too...your in for a treat if they are my friend, much more yield too...yeeeeehaaaaawwww!
