It is up to you but some photos that are in focus would help tell us if something is going drastically wrong. Maybe try backing up a bit and trying again. Sometimes a step back will be all that is needed. Trying for a super close up is not showing us much of what is actually happening so go the other way.

Most likely it is what some growers call a "foxtail". A portion of the bud starts to grow faster so it gets longer but stays skinny. I get the same type of growth on the top buds. The fatter or thicker the bud the more likely it is that this sort of change can be seen.

I notice that those leaves that can be seen are a dark, rich green color. That color could be because of the light exposure the camera selected or it could be a sign of too much fertilizer, particularly too much Nitrogen.

Possible but a couple of better photos would help give some tips on what to think about before the harvest. Some people will let the flowers continue to mature until they see a lot of amber trichomes. Some like to see all the stigma/pistils turn reddish brown and crinkle up with very few or no new ones showing or starting to grow. Up to you when it should be harvested depending on what effect, buzz or high you like to experience.

Good luck and have a great day.

How is the timer on your light?
Are you getting 12 hrs darkness for sure?
Can't see a major issue though. :Namaste:

Hey Free!

The buds aren’t shrinking… Yes it’s true that the new growth on top of the buds “the foxtail” is not as fat as the bud below it. But it’s all good, think of the new growth as a bud extension, she’s popping up appendages with more hairs to help catch pollen, she knows her days are numbered

She’s in the harvest window, doesn’t mean you should chop her right away, in fact we most often advise folks to give another week to 10 days then re-evaluate.

When the majority of the pistils turn dark and crinkle in, then it’s pretty much done. Another indicator is the plant won’t drink any more.

Looks good, nice work!
