Hi everyone, totally new to growing from seed so thought I’d start a journal and share my experience with you guys, and hopefully can point me in the right direction. WW fem seeds from MOC , growing outdoors in Oz. 4 seeds germinated from glass of water then paper towel. Had them next to window till sprouted now a week old and have put them in little greenhouse outdoors during the day, bringing them in at night. No artificial light will be used. Seedling potting mix with a little perlite for now. Then transplant to bigger pots with premium potting mix , 25% perlite, 25% worm casting mix. It’s start of spring here now with clear sunny days ahead. Nothing but water misting for now. Do they look ok for a week old seedling, they are getting tall, but hopefully not a problem. Any advice would be great.

Seedling pots are too big, pick smaller ones or peat pellets are better, next time.
They look healthy.
They are stretched, because they
crave light. MORE LIGHT THEY SAY-little
green mouths opening.

Put them under lights at night will help.
Keep the lights on, do not turn off, only when
you put them back, outside in the free sun.
You can 24 hour light schedule a seedling for faster growth.

White Widow is so hardy. It is like a weed.
Make sure you use spend a bit of money on really good soil.
Put some sand in the soil for drainage.
Always put some gravel in the bottom of the pots first.
2 inches . Heavy gravel or small stones.
before adding coco coir and sand in the potting mix and some manure and
castings and chicken shit and all other good shit.
Make sure homemade manure has completely broken down first.
That is what you do months before the big outdoor grow.

Thanks Harry, since then I’ve got my hands on 2 t5 55w 2 foot globes as I’ve germinated to early for outdoor here in Oz. I’ve got them about 6” under the light 12-12 light cycle till they can go outside in a few weeks. When I transplant them into bigger pots I’ve got really good compost and worm castings to pot in. I’ll take your advice and get some chook shit too, and also will get some gravel for the bottom of pots as you suggested. Here’s a pic of them under the light. They have a tiny bit of yellowing on first set of fan leaves. I adjusted my water ph down to 6. It was at 7.5 straight from the tap. Not sure if 7.5 would do them harm or not but sorted it now.

Anyway here’s an update of my girls, it’s been about 4-5 weeks transplanted them to bigger pots. I’ve got my ph sorted out and have added worm castings and some good mulch and are feeding nutes every second water. Just topped two of them other two arnt far behind. Feeding Greendream 1 and Nitrozyme. 9207A2F9-98BC-4AAB-84FE-A92899439335.jpeg029E3883-69C9-4582-8BCC-923208DB5E0A.jpeg9905642D-15C3-42D2-9F93-D1C9E216F7C7.jpeg854E4018-8C17-4FC0-8C3D-F7BCC303E9A6.jpeg

Looks like you're growing pretty good so far. I top them around the 4th node then when it splits into two I LST down each side instead of bending the whole plant over. I often bend the whole plant on clones though because they don't grow as even and I don't top early enough and there are height issues indoors. Not saying your way is wrong, just personal preference. You might want to add something on the other side around the bend area to keep it straightish regardless so you only pull down the top instead of pull over the whole plant (speaking from oddly shaped bent experience).

Thanks for your input Nightmask, three of them topped already. Do you mean to keep the main stalk straightish? I did wonder about that but the main stalks seemed strong. Maybe I could resecure the main stem a little. All new to me as last grow I just grew a Christmas tree. Still turned out awesome but want to see what these plants can do.

It's all a learning experience, and everyone seems to grow a little differently, so there's no one way to do it.
If you don't top it does the Christmas tree growth, and if you LST those it looks like you got now, the whole plant bent over one direction. If you top them the top then has two growths and forms like a V and if you attach an LST onto each side of the V and bend each side down it's like making her down the splits. So you got the two main branches LST'd one to each side which lets the lower alternating side growth catch up then you LST down those and you get like an X or + and then you get a bush. That's how I do it anyways, but each plant grows different so it doesn't always work out exactly that neatly.

Sweet, I just need to let the new growth grow them. I’ll top once more when they are big enough. Seems like it’ll take forever though.

So now it’s 8 weeks from seed, looking ok, some topping and lsd done. One is still flowering waiting for it to reveg .... watering every three days and nutes every time.
