can you use frosted lights

just thought id post here new to the forums and to growing really. this is probley a well knowen thing but i have been given 3 GE Multi-Vapor® Quartz Metal Halide ED37 and they are 400 watt each but they are frosted light will these lights be still alright to use being frosted or just paper weights ive got not a clue thanks in advance loving this site

yes you can grow with that bulb. I believe they call the white cloudy glass, a phosphorus coated bulb. They produce a different spectrum at the cost of a few lumens.
