Easing in my bad water

My tap water annihilated my plants for 4 months straight before I realised what was going on. I switched to distilled water with the correct PH levels and the plants have been fine since. The problem is that distilled water is expensive. I got "ph down" and I'm ready to try water that I distilled myself.

My question, any tips? I am worried that I am just going to nuke my plants again. What if it's not just the PH levels of the water and I start watering again and there is something else wrong with the water? Any tips for making sure this goes smoothly?

I’d let the water sit for a day to let the chlorine dissipate, and r u adding any nutrients?

Actually if ur distilling it u won’t have to let it sit, but nutrients and Correct ph should do the job
