Experiences with Pro-Mix

anyone ever add any coco to their promix? like a 4:1 promix coco blend, my garden store guy recommended it, he's just trying to get me onto coco i think, lol. i've used straight promix for about 20 yrs.

All I've used so far is Promix HP. Usually have good luck with it.

I also use Pro-Mix HP but wanted to add a WARNING when purchasing at the
big stores Like Home Depot, Check the date on the bag and make sure it is not
really old.

Had problem early on using a bag I purchased at Home Depot it must of started
to compost or something as I pre tested the PH and PPM and found the PPM to
be off the chart (something like 2000) so had to flush it before using it and then
just tossed the bag. Since then I started purchasing it at my Local grow store were
they store it properly instead of outside in the sun and unprotected from things being
accidentally spilled on/in or has gotten wet from there patio washing

But once I started using the properly stored product I have nothing but
great results

This is very interesting to me. I'm a new grower and all three of my grows used a promix hp base. When I got it home I saw it was well past the best before ... Almost a year. I wonder if some of the issues can be traced to the old soil.
I'm starting a new batch, and was planning to cut in the old soil ... Maybe not such a good idea.
