First time grow: advice & concerns

First time grower seeking growing wisdom !

Woke up this morning running down to the grow tent to see how my 4x auto WW's were doing.

Today is day 11 since breaking soil, 70% coco coir buffered + 30% perlite

900 EC, 420 PPM, ~6.1 pH, following this feeding schedule:
1724560

450W LED @ 32" @ 60% B/W 30% R, 16/8 schedule, ~60% RH, ~72 F

Here are some pictures of something new not seen before, a yellowing at the base of the leaves and extremely slight curling at the ridges.

From reading it says it could be from overwatering. Other information says it could be a N deficiency but yellowing occurs at the lowest leaves (?).

The yellowing became more prominent over 2 days once switching from watering 2x daily to 1x daily for fear of the roots being unable to breathe, but perhaps they should go back to 2x since it is coco?

Picture's lighting don't do it must justice, but there is a clear variation in yellow to green from base to tip! Any reason for concern?

I grow in coco/perlite using water from an RO, and General Hydroponics' Flora Trio & supplements. This is the schedule I followed for my last successful grow of Nightingale and V.C.D.C. I used them at 25% strength in a previous grow of CKS Crown Royale. It came out OK, but I didn't get a great harvest. I'm currently growing CKS Crown Royale again at 40%, and am seeing signs of nutrient burn. The schedule has been recalculated for 1 US gal / 3.79 liters.

At your stage of growth I was feeding/watering 2oz, once per day. The plants were under a humidity dome. I had no signs of nutrient deficiencies, or burn with this schedule. My pH was 5.8 through the aggressive vegetation stage, 6.0 for the transition, 6.2 for bloom & ripen and final ripening, then back to 5.8 for the flush. I flushed four days at full strength, then four days at 1/2 strength, and four days of plain water.

@Old Salt Thank you for your post, man. Seeing some great compare / contrast here. What's even better is the nutes are the same brand! I say this because there are SO MANY VARIABLES from everything I can read. The baseline just isn't there, and the questions and possibilities then become endless!

Between us I would say the nutes are in an appropriate range.

If I am reading your chart correctly......

It's looking like a variation of 1-3mL/L per nute is in the okay range for plants? I could be really wrong here just from sheer inexperience, sativa / indica may respond differently? I just read Nightingale and V.C.D.C. are indica dominant and WW is sativa dominant, it could possibly explain the variation in nute strength, but I really don't know!

@Old Salt @Chris Scorpio These new pictures are under 100% W light, the yellow to green difference looks less apparent now. Is this just natural growth? Some plants have the ridges just oh so slightly curled up and that is something new.

I don't know. Each stage of growth has different nutrient requirements. I measure all the liquid nutrients with oral syringes, as they are free for the asking at most pharmacies in Canada. The containers for the nutrients are too large for the syringes to reach the bottom, so I bought some wide mouth 100ml HDPE bottles through eBay. I weigh the water, so that is accurate as well. Being in Canada I use the metric system. One liter weighs one Kg.

That's really cool man, I like the system you've got going. Especially the syringes separated with their specific nutes.

I gotta ask now, how stunted do these plants look? Feel like they should be much further along in growth.

Anyway, it's most likely an Iron deficiency caused by me watering 2x daily, drowning out the roots.

Hopefully will just get better over time since I'm watering 1x daily now.
