Full Spectrum Lighting

Anyone have any exp. in this area? Looking for addt. lighting and ran across full spectrum lights. Sounds logical to me, but?

In my opinion CFLs have the best spectrum for growing plants...The only problem is you need so many of them so HIDs prove to be more efficient. If you want a full spectrum I would add in some CFLs..Or a HPS and MH mix.

full spectrum bulbs are good all around. If you want to maximize your potential using fluorescents. I would recommend 3000k bulbs for flowering and 6500k for vegetative. Full spectrum bulbs fall somewhere in the middle, somewhere around 5000k.

Same goes for HID lights. MH are optimum for veg while HPS are optimum for flower. I like to use hortilux HPS bulbs for my entire grow. They are mostly HPS with a hint of blue spectrum for vegetative growth. They work very well for me. You can grow entirely with MH or HPS with good results. But optimum would be MH for veg and HPS for flower.
