Good or bad? (Pictures)

Hey guys,

New here and I was just wondering if someone could tell me what this is. It's like a green light moss over the soil and the root block. The plant seems to be doing fine, I think it's going to be a monster (3 week clone). Here are some attached pictures. Thanks for the help.

That, my friend, is algae. Water + light will almost always yield algae.

It's not a huge issue, but has potential to become one. Algae will take fertilizer away from your plants (in mass infestation cases).

You can simply get a base cover to hide the top of your soil from the light, helps for fungas gnats as well.

How about sand? I live near a beach. I heard that is good aeration for the soil, but that may mean mixed in with the soil. I'll go to my local dude and see if he has soil covers or some clay rock. Thanks dudes. Happy tokin'.
