Im am growing GDP and GC .from seed my seeds hve opened nd the lil tail is out . I hve placed them in their home bags 5 gallon .growing in a 4x4 grow tent with 2 lec 315 sunsystems grow lights . I have put them inside their home lites are about 3 1/2ft away from the plants . They haven't yet broke threw the soil my question is should the lites be on now ? My set up

You can do it if you like. Not mandatory tho.
Some growers wait till they sprout, some turn them on if possible dimmed to save some on electric bill.

Its all about heat. You want the soil to be warm. Having the lights on for the intended light schedule creates said heat. Keeping them in the soil, in the dark might slow things down.
Not sure how warm your environment is without the lights on. I'm speaking from my cold ass basement, in the North East of the US.

I think the lights should be on, as soon as you put the seeds in the soil.
