Hey guys. I have a plan to build my own light for my new 8x4 growing tent. Just want to make sure I'm going to buy a right stuff :)

Option 1: 4x HLG-240H-48A
16x SI-B8U261560WW FSERIES GEN3 3500K STRIP
16x SI-B8V261560WW FSERIES GEN3 3000K STRIP
And make 4 lamps each 8 strips.

Option 2: 2x HLG-480H-48A
16x SI-B8U261560WW FSERIES GEN3 3500K STRIP
16x SI-B8V261560WW FSERIES GEN3 3000K STRIP
And make 2 lamps each 16 strips.

Option 3: 4x HLG-240H-48A
4x SI-B8UZ91B20WW 3500K STRIP
4x SI-B8VZ91B20WW 3000K STRIP
And make 4 lamps 2 strips each.

Thinking about to mix these strips an use them from seed to harvest, or I should go all 3000K? How do you think, its enough lite for these kind of space? I prefer Option 3 by the way.

First :welcome: to the forum...

All options presented will give you 960W total in a 32 sq ft tent or 30W / sq ft. That's the minimum recommended. With adjustable drivers, I recommend at least 35W / sq ft for flowering, and 25W /sq ft for veg. I recommend 4000K-4500K for veg, and 3500K for flowering. Take a look at some of the supplemental lighting from Rapid LED in the deep and far red ends of the spectrum for your flowering tent.

Before you start, have you found a place to put the tent in your home? Will you be able to get at both sides, and the front of your tent? You may need access to the sides for ventilation, if you can't fit it to the top. What you will need to do is layout your tent for a grow. How many plants do you intend to put in there? What size do you want to grow them to? Where in the tent will you locate them? Are you going to use the tent for flowering only, or from seed to harvest?

One big tent is not necessarily your best option. For seed to harvest, I recommend at least two tents. One tent is for seed - veg, the second for flowering. The seed to veg tent should be about 1/2 the size of your flowering tent. More tents will give you more flexibility for your grows. For example, one tent for seed-veg, one for flowering, one or more for breeding. Regardless of floor size, I highly recommend tall tents, preferably the 7-8' tall tents. Gorilla made the originals, but there are clones on the market today.
