How big does a plant get in a 1 gallon pot?

Could i not put the fabric pot in a bucket with clay pabble at bottom as roots grow through fabric pots or would it not work my friend used fabric pots in rdwc but the water rises fully then a float cuts out the water flow at a certain point its like a toilet u probably already no

That may work but it would be a lot more involved than just dumping it all together. The 2 mediums drying at different rates would be an issue. Clay pebbles dry vary fast and coco dries slower. The lower roots in the clay are the tap roots that search for water. You would need 2 different watering cycles running.

You could just drop it into a larger pot with more of the same media the plant is already in. The roots will push through the fabric pot once it is no longer air pruning. It would be easier on the plant if you cut the fabric when you transplant. Roots pushing through from reburying the fabric will ruin the pot anyway.
