How do those teabags they sell at the dispensaries work, if you need a fat to absorb?

I've had tea made from cannabis teabags they sell at the dispensaries, and it definitely works, after just boiling water and then steeping the bag in it for about twenty minutes. Besides about a gram of actual cannabis, the bags contain regular tea. There also appears to be a sweetener of some kind, maybe dried honey like they put in breakfast cereal.

Is it the regular tea and the honey that help you absorb the THC?

For sure, if you put cream in your tea, it would help absorb - as well as butter or coconut oil......

I dehydrate my soaked bud after I strain it from the alcohol, grind with a coffee grinder, and use a half a teaspoon in my tea, along with the cream - I can tell a slight buzz (more just that my eyes dry out) - I figure that if there are any cannabinoids left after the soaking, I don't want to give them up! What I have not used yet are the roots and larger stems.
