Yeah, I'm thinking 2 weeks. We are supposed to continue to have mild weather for the next 10 days except for some possible light rain this week but no hard frosts. At most, it's supposed to get down to a low of 33 on Thursday night and I can bring them inside for that and under the porch for the rain. I have one plant in the ground that I'm concerned about but I think my patio umbrella for the rain and covering during the low temp should protect her. She should be finished in 2 weeks as well.I’d say a week or two, I’m seeing almost all milky trichs a little amber. They look very nice!
they are done, please post more pics showing flowers from a few inches awayHow far from harvest do these 2 plants look? The first 2 pictures are from an outdoor Silver Mountain clone. The second 2 pics are from an outdoor Monkey Berries.
So you really think their done? These are outdoor plants. It doesn't show up well in these pics but I'm seeing a few more clear trichomes than I think there should be for harvest. That's why I'm thinking another 1 to 2 weeks. I will post more pics in a few.they are done, please post more pics showing flowers from a few inches away
do what you want but I SUGGEST HARVESTING RIGHT NOW OR AS SOON AS LIGHTS COME ON
OK. We are heading for a cold spell in the next couple of days with temps going down to the low 30's and rain. I can bring the plant inside at night but with the mites, I don't know. I guess she's close enough to finishing. I harvested the plant she came off of last year on October 26th. Would it be OK to give her the 48 hrs of darkness before chop or just take her down and call it a day? So far my other plants show no signs of mites. They are 4 clones off this plant and 2 other plants of different strains.I would go ahead and take it down, no sense starting a new battle when the war has been won.
This is an example of why I am always saying that the plants have to be sprayed 3 to 5 days in a row if the idea is to get rid of Mites. The can be hidden in the buds between all those little leaves and calyx parts. It is unlikely that most of us can get enough spray solution into the hidden areas on a bud to kill most of these insects with just one spraying session.I had a late stage spider mite attack like this on my very first grow 3 years ago. It was more advanced than this but not to the stage of any webbing. I brought the plant to full term and after striping off all the leaves, I sprayed the plant down with the hose just before harvest. When I hung the branches to dry, you could still see mite crawling up the branches to get off the drying plant.
I don't know but I get the feeling that Cannabis has little natural defenses against the insects. Unlike some herbs and vegetables which repel these small insects naturally. I am thinking of of some of the cabbage family with their thick leaves. Maybe the Mites cannot dig into the thick leaves deep enough to extract whatever it is that they eat so they go to some other plant.I wonder why cannabis attracts spider mites so much? I’ve grown vegetables and herbs for years and have never had an issue with them and then bam, the first cannabis plants I grow, I get spider mites!
