Hello all,
I am in the process of setting up a small grow tent and sound is a major concern. The tent will be in my bedroom and the inline fan will be in a small crawlspace which is vented to outside. I soundproofed the crawlspace with insulation and carpeting, but I'm worried about the noise my fan will make.
Here's the fan/filter I got:
HTG Supply - A GrowBright 6" Inline Fan & Carbon Filter Combo
The website says the fan runs at 52db. I will most likely be running it at half speed, as my tent is only 3x3x5, and my light is a 400w in a tube
I would like to build a box for the fan to achieve maximum soundproofing, but I'm worried that the fan motor will get too hot in an enclosed box. Is this something I should be concerned with? I will line the box with egg carton foam and carpeting to reduce noise but ONLY if these fans don't heat up too much.
Thanks for the advice!
