How to set up lights in my grow room?

ok so i have everything worked out for my growroom (which will be in my friends attic) except the lights. i dont know how to wire anything and know nothing about how to light.... dont want to spend a fortune... over time i will upgrade it but at first we want something effective and cheap. can anyone link to to some lights that i could buy at walmart sears or home depot preferably. i dont just need the light though but a socket to go along with it (or lamp?) these need to plug into a regular wall socket.... please help me..

Are you gonna have a/c up in the attic? must remember attics get hot, what is ytemp up there currently? If you could find a mogul base, Lowes sells the 400watt HPS bulb

well the attic is accessed from the side of my friends room which he has a personal ac thing near it so if needed we will blast cool air in there also we will have fans and the hot air will rise to the higher keeping the lower section we are using cooler

Get some CFL's.Spend your money on a good PH meter and good nutes.

it would take way to many cfls to supply the plants with enough light.
