If you grow indoor then you should top your plants

Light from the sun is what plants have evolved to love because it is intense and full spectrum.

Light from any source that you can mount inside is nothing like the suns energy. The inverse-square law for light intensity states: The intensity of illumination is proportional to the inverse square of the distance from the light source. It essentially means that light diminishes exponentially the further you get from the source. With sunlight a couple feet further from the sun makes almost no difference. As we all know with indoor grow lighting we need to keep our tops as close to the light without burning them as possible.

The topping method should be utilized in order to maximaize the number of tops that can be evenly placed under the light source. Without topping you will have a plant that has one amazing high quality top with mostly weak undergrowth or popcorn buds. With topping and some LST you can produce a plant that has mostly high quality tops and very little popcorn buds.

If you grow indoor and want to produce more high quality buds then you look into topping and LST.

Low Stress Training or LST

Happy growing everyone

I believe that going natural and not topping a plant should only be done on Autos and outdoor grows.

If you have a different opinion I'd be glad to hear it.
