Important question about size of intake fan

Hello fellas,

In a room that is 3,5m x 3,3m x 2,9m I have decided to use an extractor fan that will be around 2000 m3/h. I will also use a carbon filter to this. This area will have nine 600w HPS lamps. Can someone help me out on chosing the right size for an intake fan in m3/h or explain to me the right way to calculate it myself?

you have a 33cu/meter room. I believe you want to change the air over about every 5 min. a 1000cu meter/h fan will do a little more than twice that. Now I may be out on my numbers here, so hopefully someone else will confirm or correct me.

Remember, the carbon filter will restrict the flow of air. You gotta take that into consideration.

Most of these fans have high, medium and low settings. Just because you have the extra doesn't mean you have to actually use it. No matter what the girls tell you, bigger is better.
