Is this stupid?

Considered getting a second smaller 2x4 tent with a 450w LED for seedling-veg and transferring to my main 4x4 tent that has two 600w LEDs. Is that too much of a change for the plant to handle, particularly autoflowers?

thanks for any input in advance

Have you checked the wall wattage on those lights? Not the advertised wattage but actual wall pull?

You can adjust the height of the two 600w lights to accommodate your plants coming from the Veg tent. Use a cheap Lux meter off Amazon and you should be fine but have Cal/Mag on the shelf just in case.

On your Lux meter at the highest point on your plant:

Seedling 5-7k Lux
Veg 45-55k Lux
Flower 45-65k Lux

It gets dicey up around 75k and you can bleach and light damage plants. At 85k they gonna fry. As you lower your light closer to the plant the Lux level will increase.

I think your plan is not good at this time. Why? Your lighting is not sufficient, and it would seem you've fallen for the old "fake wattage" amazon/ebay/etc blurple scam.

With a proper LED light, a 250w will rock a 4x2, and a pair of them will kill it in a 4x4. That's 500 true watts in a 4x4, which is just a hair more than the "450w" claim for the 4x2 you have now.

You would want 1 of the above in a 4x2, or 2 of them in a 4x4.

They do offer a discount for forum members.

This is the part to solve first. You don't need to move autos between tents. If you want more plants, get another 4x2 and run 2 plants in each, all the way through.
