Keep sugar leaves on or off?

when you guys trim your buds, you prefer to leave the frosty sugar leaves on or off? i myself cant decide because there is a pro and con on both methods, if you leave the sugar leaves on you get nice and frosty extra trichomes, but your smoke will be harsher, and if you were to trim it completely tight, you miss out on those trichomes that the sugar leaves offer hence missing out on a bit of thc. what do you guys prefer?

its simply two different looks. If you are going for dispensary look, cut them back and use your trim to make butter or something. If the weed is for my personal consumption, I don't worry about a close trim at all, and I sort of enjoy the rough cut look of the cured buds and I am not wasting any trichomes in the edibles pile.
yeah, i understand, in my opinion if you were to sell it or distribute it through a dispensary etc. close trim is the way to go because of appeal, when it comes to personal use, its better to make the most of what you got. but thanks for the reply!

If it’s nice and frosty I like to leave the sugar leaf on. Looks way better IMO, less work, and you don’t t have to handle the buds as much trimming, so they’re visibly more frosty after they dry. It can really show off the colourful strains when they’re frosty. Some people complain about the sugar leaf smoking harsh but after a little curing it’s not something I notice. The pics aren’t examples really of trimming except maybe the Peyote Purple in the last one. First two are just sugar leaf porn I guess...

Wait I guess the first one is just leaf porn..
Not even really sure here I’m going with this....

Someone is in self-isolation after testing positive. I am sending a little something to tide him over. I figure that these are closely trimmed. After selecting some for his gift package I rolled one up for myself and took a photo of some of what was left in the jar.

Maybe there will be some time to look at one of the other jars for something to take a photo of.

Enjoy the afternoon. Off to light up my personal sample;)

sheesh them buds folks,, nice

a trim story,,

i never had trimmed more than a little plant at a time before but this summer i grew a over 30 ouncer outside,, so

a lotto trimmin

i learned a lot about the anatomy of a bud/plant by the repetitive work on this particular plant. how the buds work with all the leaves,, where to stick the trimmers and where not to

experienced growers will know what i mean

well some plants are airy and leafy and much more work to trim, but the buds are all made the same

anyway,, this lemon skunk was a ton of work but real fun to trim,, and by the end,, i got pretty good at it if i do say so myself,, ha
