New York Knicks forward Wilson Chandler was arrested on charges of marijuana possession after police pulled him over Tuesday night in Queens, the New York Post reports.
Chandler was carrying what police called "a small amount" of marijuana when he was pulled over at 11:30 p.m., according to the police. Officers said they searched the car after smelling pot.
The charge is a misdemeanor, and officers issued Chandler a desk appearance ticket, meaning he must appear in county court for arraignment at a later date.
Chandler sat the last month of the Knicks' season because of injury and is scheduled to have sports hernia surgery. The second-year guard-forward averaged 15.3 ppg and 5.4 rpg before going to the bench in mid-March.
