Leaf question

Is there any correlation among the health of a plant and its leaves.

I have some plants that are 10" tall from the top of the container and they have these massive leaves. I have been vegging them from clones for 3 1/2 weeks under a t5 and today got a 1000w hps for them to veg under.

I ask because I'm not sure if its good or bad to have these leaves this big so early. They are nearly larger than my hand. Here is a picture...

I had a small problem with some mites but that's all taken care of thankfully. Should I be doing something to keep the leaf size down? The plant looks great and has really hit a stride in growing this week.

As long as there is no issue I think the HPS will help it more. I'm just concerned that energy may be going to these leaves when it should be going somewhere else.

That's a happy happy plant -- large fan leaves are exactly what you want, they are the powerhouse of the plant that the place where most of the photosynthesis takes place.


That pic is a good healthy leaf!
