In soil, all it does is make the grower feel good. I'm all for feeling good for sure. Firm believer that all it really does it water the plant properly down the stretch.
I have an automated watering system. Going down the stretch every plant drinks over a gallon of water daily in my garden. Anyone hand watering, for sure that's work. Hard work.
