DESTIN - A deputy used a neighbor's back door to spot marijuana growing in a man's yard, he wrote in an arrest report.

Miguel Angel Perez-Martinez, 35, of Ann Circle, is chargd with cultivation of marijuana and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.

An anonymous caller had complained to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office about the house - "people were using marijuana" there, the caller claimed, according to the report.

The deputy went to the house next door and asked if he could peer out her backyard to see if there were any neighbors using marijuana. A woman there allowed him inside and said her husband had seen plants over there.

"As I went out the sliding glass door I could see over the fence without taking any extraordinary measures," the deputy wrote. He saw a large marijuana plant and two smaller ones.

Perez-Martinez claimed the plants and also admitted to owning a plastic baggie of marijuana found under his mattress.
