My dehumidifiers condensation stinks

I'd like to use the condensation from my dehumidifier for topping off my reservoir, but it smells bad. The ppm is 8.
Is it OK to use it, should it be filtered, and if so how would you do that?

If you wouldn't drink it, don't be using it on your plants.

What brand dehumidifier and what does it smell like. The water out of mine smells like dust. It's not really a good smell. It just smells like dehumidifier water. I run a Kenmore.

It's a Sunleaves, and the water smells a little stagnate, I dump it daily and clean the bucket once in a while. It just smells bad.
