The general advice on nutes is to give them one time and then give plain water the next time. Pretty much all of them do this, and here is why. Most of us water just to the point of runoff, and then we stop, and this method means that most of the nutrients that we put in there last time are still there when we come back to water the next time. The plant can't possibly use all of those nutes in one wet/dry cycle and so by resetting the pH back down to 6.3, you get a second shot at the nutes. If you do it correctly and at the dosage levels recommended, most of the nutes that you paid for, actually uptake into the plant in this two for one deal.
Now, think about this one. If you give full strength nutes and then water the next time, that second dose is roughly 50% of the normal dose. You are actually following the advice that you hear so often on these forums, to give 1/2 strength or even 1/4 strength nutes... doing it automatically, just by following the directions.
