Nitrogen toxicity completely halting cycle

So i have a question for you clever folks. I was running a little bonsai mini project plant that was an autoflower variety that should have finished flowering by now, a month ago actually haha.
But in its tiny pot with tiny rootball it got a severe nitrogen toxicity, super dark green leaves and the rest.
Anyway i managed to flush this out and its jumped back into life stretching a little and pushing out some new hairs that are now developing.
So my question is, is it the nitrogen problem that caused this, what seems to be a complete halt in the plants cycle?

Cheers guys
