now what do i do?

so had case of fungas gnts and i net and got perlite to smother the eggs and all that fun stuff, but now i have all this perlit over my soil so i cant see the soil.i dont know if its dry or what. what shoul i do can i remov the prlite after a week. i need o know when to water again.
