PH, PPM & nutes!

Hello fellow growers! So I tested my run off and it read of a ph of 6.5 and a ppm of 1350 now I’m trying to wrap my head around measuring with my meters and adjust and I’m confused on how and when to start mixing in my nutrients? Any advice on how to start?

should just water plain or with a few drops of seweed rhizotonic something of the kind with water until the cotylendons leaves start to yellow.
at that point start with 25% nute regimen or whatever your particular brand reccomends.
dont start full blast, keep upping the nutes.

also what is your medium? you didnt say. 5.8 is low for soil, so assuming youre in coco or soilless medium.

the 1350 you are measuring in the runoff is the nutes the medium is precharged with, whatever that may be. it will freak out new growers measuring it, it did me when my soil was 2700 a while back.

My medium is FFOF on three of the ladies and on my fourth I went ahead and tried a mix of 80/20 FFOF and coco. On the ph thought everything I been reading says to keep the ph between 5.3-6.5.. is this not correct for soil then?

no soil is 6.0-7.0

omg why would you mix soil and coco not a good idea lmao

in soil water at 6.3 during veg
start flower 6.4
mid flower 6.5
late flower 6.6

soil is soil
coco is a hydroponic medium
2 different phs
dont mix, youtube is not a great place to get advice. not saying you cant learn from it, but lotta fake info and uptalking their shit because its on video and they trying to get subscribes.

i personally would get a bag of some type of medium and get a few grows in using it.
i just barely figured out how to effectively get my soilless medium to run well.

pick one thing, do it well.
dont pick many things and do them all half ass

Thank you I really do appreciate that!these are them now I don’t know if you can see anything that will help or have some opinions!

just keep watering properley and then get a bag of whatever youre going to grow in and stick to it!!

im driving to work or else i would go further into detail about how ph works in organic vs non organic soils and /or aoilless mediums

soil= easiest to grow. less yield. less worry about ph when organice

Have a good day at work friend.. maybe later we can continue this conversation I’m very eager to learn

Many TLO/LOS growers use coco in their soil mixes, for water retention, and the minerals it has to feed micro-life as it (coco) breaks down over time. It is very helpful in that particular application, but there are many other factors that contribute to its usefulness. You'll have to research TLO/LOS (True Living Organics/Living Organic Soil) to understand why. However, you'll probably not see any benefits from it this grow, especially if you're using synthetic nutes.

As for the ph, here's a Helpful graph I found here on the forum, save it:

You can retire the PPM/ETC and never have to check it again by using
DBHB Kit (Member Here on 420 mag) NO PPM OR ETC to worry about, Plant talks to Microbes, Microbes
break down rocks to provide nutrients that the plant wants/needs. Plant feeds
Microbes, Microbes feed plants

its that simple But it can get a bit boring since everything works on its own ;)

Well im gonna go against the grain and say it's not calmag Def. Or any Def. If the run of is 1300ppm the soil is preloaded with all sorts. Probably gonna burn it adding more nutes. That's my prediction. Not a soil grower though and things work differently for you guys so I could easily be wrong.

I have in the past purchased HOT Soil at the large Box Stores, Once my Pro-Mix ran at over 2,000 ppm
Sometimes things get spilled on the bags and if there are any holes in the bail it can get into the product.

Keeping PH under control is a Cat and Mouse game, So much easier to just let the plant control it at
the root zone were its needed. The plants know what they need and will adjust for the needed range,
when all the Microbes and plants are talking to each other all you have to do is sit back and watch. No one
is adjusting anything in the amazon
