VANCOUVER - Six people were arrested Wednesday afternoon on allegations of drug trafficking following a police raid at the Vancouver School of Drug War History and Organic Cultivation.

Vancouver police executed a search of the premises, also known as the Herb School, at 123 E. Hastings St. at about 1 p.m., seizing drugs and drug paraphernalia, Const. Jana McGuinness said.

Charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking are expected to be laid against the six people today. The premises have been shut down by fire and city licensing inspectors because of safety concerns.

McGuinness said the school, which is near the safe injection site, has been on the police radar for some time. She said police decided to execute a search warrant because of the frequency of people entering the premises.
