Purple Widow Auto Week 11

First grow, half way into the 11th week.
Seems like it’s close to harvest time! Amber trichromes are starting to appear.

2 Questions:
1) Is there anything else I should do before harvesting next week?
Ex. stop watering a a certain amount of time before cutting, keep them in darkness...

2) Could I do anything next time to prevent the foxtails on top from happening or is it typically genetic?
Looks a bit odd and I’ve heard they may not be as potent.

Some folks will flush with pure water for a week or 2 before harvest-I don't as a matter of personal preference-you could do a search on it and see what you think, quite a bit of debate on the subject,so you may be in for a long read..

Fox tails can sometimes be caused by too much heat (in the whole room, not just on the affected buds)
And some of it may be genetics.
I've had plants outdoors that foxtail on a few buds, and the rest are normal,so it may also be a random thing that some plants do.
The foxtails are just as potent as the rest of the bud, they're not pretty, but they don't really hurt anything
There is a strain-"Dr Grinspoon" that is nothing but foxtails, and it's a very potent sativa strain.
