Quadlining vs 4 way LST

I'm currently "studying" quadlining, and as far as I can see the 4 way LST is the same thing, with perhaps the only difference being that it doesn't explicitly mention chopping the growth out of nodes 1 and 2(?). LST seems to be the norm for quadlining anyway, since you want to spread those 4 branches out.

I think the term 4-way LST is the same as quadlining, and has been around longer. I've seen it used back as far as 2008 elsewhere. I've only heard it called Quadlining here, so maybe its the name folks here came up with when folks started doing it here.
Only thing I never understood is, it doesn't feel like LST. To me, low stress doesn't include chopping 2 nodes off and topping, then forcing the remaining lines to go flat. To me, that's HST. But who am I?
Anyway, I was looking at this because I am going to try it again with the seeds I have coming in from the Vault. I can't seem to remember exactly how I did it last time, and last time was with Autos....
