A federal ruling allowing medical marijuana users to grow their own cannabis is being praised by users and activists.
Local marijuana activist Steven Stairs tells 680 CJOB this is a necessary step forward but there's still a lot of work that needs to be done.
"The ability for people who have a medical licence to grow still don't have the ability to change their address," says Stairs. "That's posing a lot of problems for some people who have to move, for example."
Laws introduced by the previous Conservative government were struck down, giving the current federal government six months to create new medical marijuana legislation.
