Sappy scabs?

At first I thought I had bugs, they look a little like spider mites but they don't pop when squished, they just feel dry and hard.. I'm also fairly sure they're not moving...

So I took a closer photo and they look like little scabs of sap or something..

Anyone know what's going on there?

Guttation, a thing plants do like at night or something excreting xylem fluid like potassium and sugars.
