Sealant for cut branches?

I usually tie up and "skirt" my plants about 3 weeks into bloom. During this process I remove some lower branches and small buds that won't get enough light to fully develop. My question is: Is there something I should be putting on to the areas where branches are cut from; some sort of sealant or wax? Any input is appreciated.

You would get a better harvest if you don't trim up during the flower cycle. Cutting a plant in its flower cycle really slows plant growth. Do you do this just to collect popcorn buds before harvest? If so you are cheating yourself out of more weight the plant can pack on.
