Ohio - Crime lab staffers have determined the Sabina Police Department seized a felony amount of marijuana during a late November raid of a residence on the 400 block of North Howard Street in the village.

When there is more than 200 grams of marijuana involved, the alleged crime rises to a felony-level offense of the fifth degree, according to Sabina Police Chief Tom Little.

Arrested without incident after the search of their residence were Timothy J. Lytle, 19, North Howard Street, Sabina, and Chad Simpson, 19, North Howard Street, Sabina. Originally, the two young men were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

The case against Lytle is presently under consideration by the Clinton County Prosecutor's Office and is expected to be presented to a grand jury, Little said Monday.

Police confiscated more than $500 in cash at the residence along with what Little described as "a large bag of marijuana."

As a result of citizens' complaints about the residence, law enforcement conducted an investigation and then sought a search warrant of the place signed by Clinton County Municipal Court Judge Chad L. Carey, Little said.

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office assisted in the raid, Little said.

"The search went smooth," the police chief said.

"It's always nice to get any illegal narcotics off the street, and we will continue to pursue individuals who sell or use illegal drugs in the village. We're not going to stop," Little vowed.
