What products are there that can lower your electric bill?

Was flipping through a magazine at the grandparents house(they get all kinds of garden mags)and came upon a solar panal that was 12x12.It looked like it was attached to the side of the house buy a satalite pole.I belive it said it could generate enough power to run a couple of room's.Would something like this work for plants?

Racefan, there is a current grow using LED as an assist, and it seems pretty good. I think LED's for flowering still cost a fortune to make and buy because they bulbs must be perfect for it. They must be large enough, cut correctly for placement and plentiful enough to provide the light the plant needs (Which means large panels even with good lights.) I am gonna look for a UFO grow.

LED still has a few years to go, but the faster we find uses for the ones in development, the faster and cheaper the new ones will be!

If this link works it is s mooses's post about LEDs with a video, these are the grow with Led products that actually do work. A lot of LED vendors make exaggerated claims but these do work as advertised and do save a lot of power.
