Ya, just chopping a harvest and thinking of next grow plan using worm castings.Picked up a big bag today, first time using it. Was thinking of a cup with 5gal pot soil..mix in with diametrius earth, perlite 20%, spagmum moss , top with sand.
Sand is keeping out any FG flies, soil tests show clear of larvae.

Not interested in reading up on mixes, ingredients are limited here. KEEP IT SIMPLE MY MOTTO
Living compost is out for now,all soil is baked oven for INDOOR GROWS.

So my question is recommended amount for a 5 gal pot

GREAT GROWS

Skip the sand for a lot of reasons. You can use say 20% of your mix as worm castings I'd go as far as 30% if I didn't have any compost on hand.

Add perlite or rice hulls for aeration 30%

Dont "bake" soil - dont even know what that is.

30% peat moss

For fungus gnats - put a fan on the soil line - poof gone.

Dont overthink.

25% castings minimum,, and just what @bobrown14 said,, one way anyway
