Planning my first grow!

Hey Guys,

I'm in the planning stages of my first grow and need some help!!

I live in Manitoba, Canada in an apartment and would like to be stealthy in my grow. It will be for personal use. I'm gonna start with one plant and maybe expand as I learn.

I would like to build a sealed grow cabinet. I grew up and work in the construction industry as well as my grandfather was a cabinet maker. I can build pretty much anything but am new to growing and not sure what I'm doing.

I understanding it needs to be sealed as I want it to be stealth. I want it to look like a wardrobe cabinet. I know I will need lights, not sure what kind ideally cfl or led as to not impact my hydro bill.

I will use computer fans for circulation and intake and exhaust. Size is unknown but dependant on what size the cabinet is.

Size I was thinking around 24" deep and 78" tall. but the width is undetermined. I know at the top ill need some space for fans, powersupply, lights which will have to be height adjustable, as well as a charcoal/carbon filter.

Again I am new at this and any tips would be much appreciated. Can the exhaust blow into the room or should be exhausted outside?

I would like to start with green crack from crop king seeds. Autoflowering.

Any help would be appreciated.

You can look in my Anti Journal Journal link in my sig to see what I was using, there is quite a few others that have posted similar things. Smell was still an issue with mine to a point as I went cheaper route and mimicked the small box that I had bought when I made my bigger ones.

Exhaust out and it looks like you would only need a 4 inch inline fan with ducting from Grow Lights Canada. Canada's #1 source for Grow Lights / HID / LED / CFL / Induction / CMH Lights and Hydroponic Equipment or Amazon. This will help reduce heat and humidity.

I would also add a small fan that always stays just above the canopy (height of plants will change). This will help air circulate as well and keep it cool. You want the temp between 20-24 degrees celsius and about 45% humidity.

As for lights....go LED with a 900 watt for your needs (sellers often over estimate the amount of grow space LED lights cover). I suggest MARS again can be bought on Grow Lights Canada. Hi NR, heres a few tips I hope some of it helps.

1st either do only autos 2 at a time or 1 fem indica. You have to adopt a 10 second rule. Means of the landladys at the door youhave 10 seconds to cover the op and the smell. If you have closet space, a 2x3x5 tent will be more efficient and cost effective vs a woodbuild with mylar added. For lighting look at tasty led for a gen 7 vero veg lamp. Go for a 4000 kelvin.They have a one bulb lamp that will suffice for one plant.For flower look at cali light works bloombooster 220. Be sure to get the bloom version, not full cycle or veg. Start with fem seeds to get a yeild and exp. Before going to autos. Use soil and a simple nute like mighty grow. Dont bother with the amend just get grow n bloom. Use it at 1/4 strength and less for autos. Pop your beans in wet papertowel, make certain it stays wet. For odor use ona 30oz gel but do not use it in the growroom. Only in the living areas with grow shut off. Keep tent open 24/7, but black out the room 100%. Get a small honeywell fan to put in front of the tent on
the floor. If you need a lighttimer buy one.Give fems 15 hrs during veg and 12 during flower. For autos 15 works for both. A good free grow bible is from robert bergman. Try to open the grow room window a cpl hrs a day for a fresh exchange of co2.
Hang the booster about 1inch from the bar. Must be high. The vero can ride normal. Get a ph pen and check any soln. before you give it and the runoff. Weed in soil loves 6.2 so aim for that with the runoff. Buy a Carson microbrite scope for flowering. If you dont have an ro filter and cant afford bottled. Buy some pure vit. C powder and dose 45 mg per gallon. Buy a digital gram scale. Also buy some epsom salt as mag deficiencies are common. If the grow room has a ceiling fan run it on high constant. Lemme know how it goes.
