i have a 250 cfl envirolight and i was wondering could i put the cfl into my 400 watt reflector shade and be saving on the electric bills or would it be costing as much as a 400 watt hps bulb .

250w cfl & HIDs all share the same E40 bayonet fitting & in theory should fit any reflector.
CFL have an in built ballest.
Just Do Not plug your CFL into the your HID ballest or kaboom...
Most 250w cfl real draw of electicity is about 50w to 60w aprox with 125w cfl around the 30w mark
Might be a slight varation depending on brand & how many U's(elements) in bulb.
