3rd Grow 400 Watt Mixed Box

Hey all this is my third grow so far and here are the details.

What strain is it: Random Kind Bud
Is it Indica, Sativa or Hybrid? From what i remember most was couch lock herb
Is it in Veg or Flower stage: Flower
If in Flower stage... For how long: 14 days
Indoor or outdoor: Both
Soil or Hydro: Both
If soil... what is in your mix: Nothing just yet but fox farms soil
If soil... What size pot: 4 gallon
Size of light:400 watt
Is it aircooled: Yes
Any Pests: Nope
How often are you watering: 2-4 days
Type and strength of ferts used: Botanicare 1/2 strength

As of right now im using CFL till my ballast and reflector arrive 6/8-6/13
But so far all plants show promise and good genetics.
Here are the plants so far nice and healthy. Started one month ago

My Babies outside. They were planted on 4/21/12 this photo is about a week old i will updated a newer one later.

So today my light has arrived and has been set up. What is the best distance for a 400w hps from plants?

The soil I choose was fox farms ocean forest

Update plants are doing great and I got pics to prove it.

Outdoors one plant is indica dominate and the outer is pure sativa

Indoor Plants two plants were topped and the other was my first attempt at fim.

Here are pictures of the out door plants they are doing great. Considering the fact that I planted them too close together.
In one of the photos (4th one down) you will see i started lsting the sativa plant to keep it down.

I ordered some 3.4 gallon superroot air pots for the indoor seedlings during there transplant will post pics with further updates later.

Looks good Matt, the best height for any light is as close as you can get it without burning the tops. I use the back of my hand just touching the top of my tallest plant. If it is to warm for my hand it is too warm for them. To nail down a number is harder but it ave about 12 -18 inches. I get my 1000W 16 inches away and they loved it.

Thanks Electricthom I put my 400w about 9-10 from the tops its not too hot at all they seem to love it.

The outdoor sativa has started to show sex. So harvest should be around late September to mid October.
I'm a noob for hydro but how is a flush done do I refill the reservoir with 6.2 ph no nutes or 6.2 with very little nute?

Have some more rain coming my way till tuesday what should I do about the outdoor crop
