So I'm wondering if these sprouts looks healthy

The little one was the first to sprout but had a seed helmet. I moistened it and carefully removed try cap with tweezers. It's pseudo leave stayed half dead but surprisingly the plant is still growing but slower than others. And first set of leaves. One is bigger than other advice. ?

I agree with Chris. Also you could bury those plants deeper by adding soil to the pots. You can plant them right up to the first set of leaves.
I'm a new grower as well but study on this forum for a little each day and you will learn fast!

The very first leaves on any plant grown from seed are call cotyledon leaves or embryonic leaves.

They look perfectly healthy you can bury that stem right up to the cotyledon leaves with soil it will grow roots from it good luck and happy bean popping.

That's a vigorous grower, looks good so far. That strain will make some great big buds. I'd add some soil like mentioned and get a fan blowing on it.

Love that strain..... but, so did the bugs so I stopped running it to focus on other strains.

Be proactive with your pest management.

Best of wishes on your grow

Thanks for the advice. I added some soil up to top of pots. Anything I can do for the stunty one or just let it grow with the rest. Massmedman any advice on the species?

Last question. Since she's a heavy feeder (yes I have been browsing all the forums.)

What nutes would you recommend and when. I'll also update the plants once a week.

I ran VK on House n Garden. I ran it on their heavy feeder program or schedule. Id recommend house, had no problems with that. Or, I currently use RX Green Technologies. Feed according to their schedule. Im sure that strain would do well with either line. Neither house or RX are cheap lines,,, but, you'l grow monsters and the ROI is strong. Good luck!

Here's my update. In my inexperience I think I topped the big one too early. This is day 18 since planting the seeds. Any troubling signs? How are they looking to your expert eyes folks. I'm not afraid to admit when I make mistakes it's the only way I will learn so I turn to your expert opinions.

They look good. Wet, but good. Lettin them dry out in between watering is very helpful. Might add some soil if you have it laying around.

No the soil. Ideally you can pull the plant out by the stem when it's dry. In a plastic can for sure. And, considering the stem is sturdy enough.

What kind of soil are you using? I see some burn on the older leaves which isn't the worst thing. But, you want to monitor that. In veg, I typically run soil and water only. Maybe some light teas towards the end. This is when I used FFOF, coast of maines stonington, or a soil mix I made. Not all soil is the same and meant to do the same thing.

So,, let's talk about your kit or soil?

I'd ditch those tupperware containers, btw. Run off shouldn't be taken back up by the plants. That's going to be different for some growers and systems but, I typically let them drink what I pour down them and take the runoff away after. May not be easy with those one gallons or appear to be one gallon pots. But, slow steady hand watering is best imho.

I really like drenches when they're dry. Look up doc buds threads to learn more about them. ;)

Anyway, it takes time to get the hand watering technique down. Fabric pots help, and larger pots also.

That's my two dollars worth.

What's up with the soil?

I'm using this vegetation light from home depot.
The bar.

I'm thinking of switching to that larger one. But I'm not sure.

Hello fellow Canadian , I am in Ontario also , we need more info , do you have a tent if so what size as this determine what you need for a light , also you need a ph meter and a ppm meter (pen )-amazon for these , what type of water are u using (tap water , distilled etc ), that bar light is ok but I would say it is time almost for a stronger light , I like h.i.d lights personally but led`s work but they don't give the penetration a 600 watt hid will and they sell for $200 bucks ,a $125 led is no where near strong enough for 4 plants and not enough penetration to get to the bottom part of the plants .unless you buy 2 or more led`s Amazon has 600 watt hid - Vivosun lights and they work great I just change the bulb from m.h for veg to a hps bulb for flower and the vivosun kit comes with both bulbs and a electronic timer and a digital adjustable blast - witch means you can increase the amount of light as your plants get bigger (200 watts to 400 watts to the full 600 watts )and these perform great and the price is really good , I use them personally , I was a led person but it meant buying a $1000.00 led to get the same results as a $200 hid light , the only down side is a hid light does create more heat but you will need fans anyway with both lights. Ps I don't top a plant till it is alteast 3-4 weeks old and has 4-5 sets of full leaves . a plant that small is trying to grow roots 1st to hold itself up and then more leaves to increase the photosynthesis , I don't work for vivosun , any 600 watt hid will work I just like the price and the results they have given in the past but any 600 watt hid will work but you will need 2 bulbs 1 for veg and 1 for flower , just like led`s have 2 switches to turn on depending on the stage of growth your plants are in .

They are in a wooden cabinet right in the living room where there temperature is a nice 20 to 22 degrees Celsius a day.

I'm using tap water until I transfer to the bigger pots then I planned on using the giant bottled jugs. I use the vegetation soil from Wal-Mart. In the blue bag I'll see if I can find the brand and specifics.

I plan on introducing nutrients bought from the local hedge shop in a week when they go to the bigger pots.

I thought topping after 2nd or 3rd set of leaves would be best as the plant doesn't grow that tall to begin with. Between 2 to 3 feet.

I just checked kijiji. He has a 1000 watt system. Offered me the balast , light and reflector for 100 bucks . He also has a fan system for sale.
