Jon's ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro Grow

White Widow

She didn’t give me much, but what she did is absolutely top notch. I love the Widow.

Here’s how she hits the jars today.

Day 78

She’s close. Waiting on trichomes now. Very frosty and very sweet smelling plant. Dense buds. The production for her size is incredible.

Harvested the White Widow. Too early. But of course I didn’t catch the N deficiency till it was too late. All her leaves were bright yellow. Not worth even showing you. Very poorly grown by me.
Congrats on the harvest anyway! Nugs look great too. :thumb:

I'm wondering why you took it early just because the leaves were yellowing. I left my LeC until it was ready even though it looked awful!

A good question, especially since I was too embarrassed to show you, lol. @InTheShed , I took her early because unlike your plant (which I think is beautiful btw), on mine, ALL the leaves were yellow. Every single little sugar leaf. Every fan. There was zero green anywhere. Serious deficiency, way too late to correct (I tried for weeks). I feared it was going to start affecting the buds. And she was only about 4-5 days early anyway. The weed is fantastic. Seriously it’s a lot better in every level than the first huge one. Awesome genetics this Original Harvest. Thanks for asking.

Day 79
HARVEST!!!

Yay! She’s where I want her! I’m going for the “sativa-y indica” with harvesting this girl. Ie, I’m taking her when I have as close to all white trichomes with as little amber as possible. This is peak thc and peak sativa effects. I’ve done this before with indicas. By taking them with minimal amber I find I get the best of both worlds. A racy buzz at first that settles into an awesome body buzz. With excellent pain relief. In a perfect world anyway. Her specs said 70-80 days from sprout, so we’re right there. Again I laud the accuracy of Ethos’ descriptions, they’re very consistent in that regard.

Here she is on her last day.

Banana Daddy

Here’s the obligatory wet trimmed branch. We did this one first as a gauge. I’m going to let her go another day at least. This is great, but I think it’s a *touch* too early now that I see one branch. I’m also starving her until I take the rest. She’s half dry now. I may let her go two more days and just not water her and see what happens. Not a drought by any stretch but a two day stress at the very end? Who knows?

In these pictures you can see the branch I took, the trim I took off, the small pile of flarfy buds, and the branch wet trimmed including a closeup. In light of how dense this plant is, this small amount of flarf isn’t terribly bad at all.

Check it out!

Strawberry Haze
Yield

What did I say @InTheShed, it was about 6 ounces? I was pretty close for a change! Lol.

182 grams, which equals an exact 6.5 ounces of finished, trimmed bud. Over days of burping it may end up around 6.3 or something, but you get the idea. For a 3x3 and an even smaller screen for the scrog, I don’t think that’s too bad.

So there you go. I’m in Strawberry heaven.

Banana Daddy
Stem Porn

Holy tight nodes, Batman! This is absolutely ridiculous. Good luck getting a flarf free plant from this (assuming autos)…it’s tough. Auto indicas will do this sometimes, in my experience. I defoliated this plant like a champ, WAY beyond normal, and still all the lower middle of the plant was flarf. I tried like crazy to spread her out but you can see how thick and close the branches are. No wonder she looked like she did. All that said she may come out between three and four ounces (guessing), which I am way happy with considering her diminutive size. She wasn’t more than two feet tall, and only the two main colas were that tall. Small pot, small auto. She smells awesome hanging - an odd islandy sort of smell to me, whatever that means. That’s where the smell takes me.

Anyway, thanks so much for checking out this grow and journal. I’ll have an epilogue in a few days when I do the BD yield and trim.

Here’s stem Porn and a shot for scale.

@Azimuth - I’ll be taking a month off or so shortly so I can finally move out of godforsaken Florida and back to Pennsylvania. Yay. But I am in process now of getting in place what I want. I spent a few bucks. When I come back it’s gonna be with this:

1 2x4 ViparSpectra sponsored grow with the XS1500 Pros
1 3x3 ViparSpectra sponsored grow with the KS3000
And then…I go big. On top of those two I have:
3 5x5s - one is a North Atlantic Seed Company sponsored grow of Super Silver Haze under the Mars Hydro FC-E6500, one is the first run with the NextLight Mega Pro new light and will be a serious auto grow, and the last one will house the championship light I’m using now for the Mimosa and will be photos.
And
1 3x3 for the NextLight 420h which will be a photo hula hoop grow (I got a 32” one for the new 3x3)

All told that’s 101 square feet of grow space. By far the most infrastructure I’ve ever had, and somehow I have all the side components for all of too.

I’m psyched. It’ll be epic.
